Yasmine Malone, Clarksdale High Student, introduces her photo story about Meraki  Roasting Company/GRIOT Arts, Inc., a local coffee shop and youth center in downtown Clarksdale.

CLARKSDALE – Clarksdale native and University of Mississippi student, Yasmine Malone, 22, was one of 22 young women photographers across the country to participate in The New York Times “This Is 18” project, which highlights what being 18 means for young girls in their communities, reported by the New York Times.

Malone, highlighted the story of Maddison Breanne Justice. Last year, Malone participated in the Barefoot Workshops week-long documentary photography program for youth in Clarksdale.
