What is it about?

This month of August marks National Immunization Awareness month. It is dedicated to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. This is made possible through communications toolkit provided by NIAM.

National Immunization Awareness month gives health care providers and the public key messages, vaccine information, sample news releases and articles, social media messages drafts, links to web resources from CDC and other organizations, and logos, web banners, posters and graphics to use with social media in order to spread awareness.

Sections of National Immunization Awareness month’s toolkit:

School-Age Children
One of the most important things a parent can do to protect their child’s health is getting their child vaccinated according to the recommended immunization schedule. Whether parents have a baby starting at a new child care facility, a toddler heading to preschool, a student going back to elementary, middle or high school – or even a college freshman – parents should check their child’s vaccination records.

Pregnant Women
Vaccines are an important part of a healthy pregnancy. Women should be up to date on their vaccinations before becoming pregnant. Getting vaccinated
during pregnancy also allows the mother to pass some protection on to her baby.

Babies & Young Children
One of the most important things a parent can do to protect their child’s health is getting their child vaccinated according to the recommended immunization schedule.

Preteens & Teens
Keep up to date on your children’s vaccines. That’s one of the most important actions parents can take to ensure a healthy future for their kids.

Adults
All adults should get recommended vaccines to protect their health. Even healthy adults can become ill and pass diseases on to others. Everyone should have their vaccination needs assessed by a health care professional.

Make sure you have access to reliable healthcare providers.
