AutoInsuranceMM.Info – Low income insurance – AHIP, BCBSA, AMA Join to Improve Public, Private Payer Ecosystem
– The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future (PAHCF), a newly formed coalition, consisting of leading healthcare provider societies and payer organizations, has committed to strengthening the nation’s private and public payer ecosystems.
AHIP, the American Medical Association (AMA), the BlueCross BlueShield Association, PhRMA, and the Federation of American Hospitals are founding members of the consortium.
PAHCF’s mission includes improving the quality and scope of Medicaid and Medicare, creating greater stability in the employer-sponsored insurance market, and supporting patients to make cost-effective healthcare decisions.
“This coalition brings together a broad and diverse group of American healthcare leaders who are on the front lines of care delivery. Together, we believe that there is more that can be done to strengthen our current healthcare system, advocate for commonsense solutions, and fix what is broken,” said Erik Smith, PAHCF’s spokesperson.
In addition, PAHCF also aims to support patient-focused healthcare innovation by fostering new technologies to enhance the quality of patient care. The coalition expects the mix of payer, provider, and biopharmaceutical expert groups to actively address challenges in the healthcare industry related to affordability and access to care.
“The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future will work to find ways to improve the parts of our healthcare system that work, including Medicare, Medicaid, and other government programs, and it will identify how, together, we can expand health care access and options, foster continued innovation and improve affordability,” said Smith.
